Photoshop is the REAL graphics editing program. I don't think Paint Shop Pro is quite as capable as Adobe Photoshop but it's maybe better for beginners.

I use Photoshop CS, which also has the excellant InDesign.
Paint Shop Pro however is cheaper, becoming more and more powerful with each release at an alarming rate. Plus it runs on slower PCs.
For normal web graphics Paint Shop Pro is fine. Photoshop for the more demanding user, or for those who think they are too good for Paint Shop Pro!

Well, I would use photoshop if I could afford to purchase it. It definitely has some advantages over Paint Shop Pro. BUT, I've been using PSP for over five years now...and can't imagine life without it. It takes me a heck of a lot less time to use it than anything else because I've spent so much time in it. The first time I used photoshop on someone elses computer, it was really frustrating because some of the shortcuts available in PSP aren't in Photoshop.

BUT...if I could go back in time and IF I could afford Photoshop, I would have bought it five years ago instead of PSP.
