Is Math important in web development?

For all of you site owners/firm owners/freelancers ... from your experience .. how important is Math for you now. Do you use it a lot? Is it Ok to just have some basic knowledge?

Basic skills are always handy in the design side (widths and heights etc.) and again very useful when programming but nothing is essential, can always use a calculator

Like Ant said, basic skills can help - but if you don't have any then calculators or spreadsheets or whatever are at your disposal to work out things for you.

I think basic math is good for webdesign, mostly for the graphic work. Once you get into higher programming levels though I think it will become more important.

math isn't that important in basic web design, but it's pretty important in higher level software development.

I believe it is important to web design, at least focusing on logic. With poor logic skills, I think any one would have a very tough time becoming better at web design. Even if you are not calculating exact figures, understanding what will happen with code, the logic behind the code, is important to web design.

I also consider that basic skills are important. Calculus is the main thing. And it looks like my math is already rusty .. I always make mistakes with layout dimensions

I think the important part of maths for design is ratio and perspective.

In web development not much i find. But when you get into c++ or java then i find it will become a *must* know.

Make it easy for yourself and take a calculator for everything you have to calculate. No need wasting time on that. Logic and understanding is the most important thing. Programming in PHP is a kind of math. You have to work to a solution with the date you're given, and that's what math's about. That's what programming is about too. I know a lot of math, so I use a lot of math. Math gives me ideas. You'd be suprised how much inspiration you can find in math.
