Instant banning?

Who has the "honor" of getting instantly nuked from your forums? Spammers? Trolls? What can make you ban instantly with no warning?

Generally:

- First posts are clear spam cross posted (i.e. posted at least twice in two or more different forums).
- First post is clear spam with 5 links or more in it.
- First post contains racial slurs, pornography, illegal activities, etc.

Besides that, generally we'll warn people, even 1 post spammers, as long as it was just 1 post.

Any poster who posts with clear intent on disrupting my property I will unkindly show the door, and make sure it hits on the way out.

Any pornography or excessive advertising and I think I can probably ban that member without any regrets. I would only 'insta-ban' in those kinds of extreme cases that Patrick mentioned in his posts.

There are really only 2 types of insta-bans:
1. Obvious spammers. It's very easy to recognize one of those, because their posts resemble spam mails and are totally irrelevant. Also, they mostly have more accounts on 1 IP.
2. The worst kind of trolls. That are people who are very offensive, explicit, use a lot of caps and write total gibberish. I might be mild on those though. A call to order and a temporary ban, perhaps. Does anybody know digg? These are the kind of guys that get instantly dugg down way deep, like -200. I can understand them, though, they're mostly just young.

Spammers and of course trolls but more importantly recently people who register then post a link straight to their site (and obviously havnt read my site's rules), especially as I have a 15 post rule in place that prevents people from adding links to their posts until they have made 15 "normal" posts that contribute to the site. Whats more annoying is people contacting or PMing because they cant post a link to their site. Since I have to pay for advertising why should I give it away free with nothing in return? They are probably more annoying than the spammers

I am getting mad at these people too. No matter how much I limit access to some areas, they'd just plug their link and go. The good thing is the links are not offensive, but still it really makes me mad.

Yeah, I know those people. Everything said here so far is pretty much my criteria for an instaban. BTW Gibbon, what is your digg username if you have one?

You appear to have found out already. However, I left digg just because of those people and deteriorating content. I’m on Reddit now, and their quality appears to be sort of decent.
