Default Gmail Guide For Webmasters (With More Than One Email Address

I've been using this since I had my first domain and although this is old, I want to share it to you for the benefit of those who haven't heard of this yet. So here it is.

Hello and welcome to my Gmail tutorial!
Overview ...If you have more than one website, then the chances are you have more than one email address. Many people who use Gmail and have many websites simply forward name@site.com to name@gmail.com, usually using the Cpanel mail forwarding settings, however this guide will show you how to get the most out of your gmail account for use with many other email addresses.

Setting Up ...

First up lets setup a mail forwarder in cpanel (site.com/cpanel). Go to Mail > Forwarders and then create an address and forward to your gmail account.

So now all emails to admin@albumbase.com will forward to my gmail address. But wait a sec, I can't reply using admin@albumbase.com, if I replied it would send from name@gmail.com which is unprofessional and may confuse somebody.

In order to reply from admin@albumbase.com we need to setup an account in gmails settings. [Go to Settings > Accounts > Add another email address] and then add your sites email address like I have done:

And then follow the steps and click the link in the confirmation email.

Now go to [Settings > Accounts] and select: Reply from the same address the message was sent to.
.

Basically when someone sends you an email to name@site.com, when you reply it automatically replies from the email address it was sent to, and not your default gmail address, just saves you the hassle of having to change the email address when replying.

Now we will create a custom label (acts like a folder) so that when someone sends an email to name@site.com it goes to a seperate folder "site.com". This keeps everything really organised and seperated from the rest of your mail.

Create a label [Settings > Labels]

Now click "create a filter" (link is next to the search bar).

Then click "next" and choose the label you just created and then your finished.

Testing ...

Now test it, i'll send an email to admin@albumbase.com

Bingo!

Also in your labels box it tells you you have (1) new email too!

What Next? ...

If you have more than one site repeate the process like I have done!

Also, gmail has a nifty feature meaning you can manually select which email address to send/reply from!

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial
I quoted this from Jack of Zymic Webmaster Forum. The original thread is found here. I choose to just copy it cause the last time I checked the site, their MYSQL database had an error so yeah. I have no copyright, whatsoever with this. The whole acknowledgement goes to Jack. I hope this little trick by him can help you guys.

Yeah, but this is for those who wants to administer ALL of their emails in ONE gmail account. I've signed up for the Gmail hosted and three of my domains got accepted. The bad thing about it is, I have to open each account to admin them. I dunno why but the redirect feature in the settings dont work.

Soul - you must disable the mail feature of your cpanel or configure you mail management by editing your dns zone by deleting the old mx entries and put all the 7 mx record entries by google. my email forwarding works...
