Invision Power Board Invision Power Board or just IPB. A good paid script we'll discuss about in here. Everything from installing themes to putting even more features to it.

Default How do you feel about Invision Board?

There is quite a debate whether it's a good script or not. What do you think about it? have you used it? Are you pleased with it?

I have used it at the very start of it's creation when it was free.

I still like it but find the paid license too expensive for non commercial websites.

The support for the paid board varies, but most of the time very good. Some of team memberes and owners are arrogant and the community at their support forums are not so good anymore.

I like Invision Board admin panel better than vBulletin admin panel.

I have never used phpBB and usually don't prefer it over the other boards, but this board has been customized to look very good.

It is amazing to me. But it costs money and I don't have the money to fork over for a forum. Plus, if the forum doesn't end up picking up, it would be a waste of money. Anyway, phpBB was free and easy to install/use so phpBB it was for me. I still think phpBB is great. Just, IPB has more features built in. You need to mod phpBB for extra features.

I prefer IPB over VB. If you don't want to pay for IPB yet, you guys can google up "1p3p1Final.zip" or "IPB-2p0p0.zip" for the older versions (Just keep in mind they have security vulnerabilities). It's something I heard over at Freewebspace.net forums.

I prefer vB than IPB. But most people would turn an eye to PhpBB, the leading free forum software. Well, I still think that vB is better although it's not free and expensive. vB is more organized with Modifications than PhpBB and IPB.

I also heard rumours that PhpBB boards are easy to get hacked. IPB is on the average line and vB the top line.

At the risk of bumping an ancient thread, I prefer IPB over all the other platforms on the market. I like the look of IPB and with 3.0 adding mods is pretty easy. But I am bias as IPB is all I have ever had, but to me phpBB is archaic at best. I like the way alot of SMF and VB sites look and from a members stand point they are easy to use, I just never went that way. My first forum was a forumer IPB 1.3 and when I went paid I wanted to stick with something similar.

Only used them for a free board. It was alright! But I'm in love with vbulletin (unfortunate for my wallet)
